WAIUKU TOWN BOARD

The ordinary meeting: of the Waiuku Town Board was held on Monday evening, the chairman, Mr. J. J. A. James, presiding. It was resolved to call tenders for the trenching and filling in of drains for pipes from the bore in Victoria Avenue to the town board office in Queen Street, the successful tenderer to employ local labour if it is available. It was decided that when the bore is completed it be tested for. 24 hours continual pumping and should the water show no appreciable fall, that the other bore should be immediately proceeded with. The board’s engineer was instructed to get in touch with A. and G. Price, Ltd., with regard to supplying pumping machines. The Works Committee reported that about five chains of metal had been put on Colombo Road. and Queen Street had been patched.
