NEW TRAM FARES

DOMINION ROAD EXTENSION In reporting an interview with the Transport Board on the question ot fares for the tramway extension along Dominion Road, Messrs. L. F. Jones and G. E. Tansley informed the Mount Roskill Road Board last, evening that the deputation consisted of 20 different interests and they had never before heard such unanimity on any public question. They had asked for a fivepenny fare to the Mount Albert Road terminus, 3s 9d concession tickets, workers’ tickets and a reduction on return fares. The chairman, Mr. E. F. Jones, expressed the opinion that the representations made would bear fruit and that the district would eventually obtain a better and a cheaper service rhan that originally suggested by the Transport Board.
