ANNUAL MEETING

TE PAPAPA BOWLING CLUB “All subscriptions of club menfbers have been paid, and we commence the ensuing year with a small credit balance, and owe but one small account.” This is the happy position of the Te Papapa Bowling Club, as recorded in the report presented at the annual meeting last evening. Mr. T. Harriman presided and thanked Messrs. W. Dennison, R. G. Speight and H. Johnson for having donated the trophies which had been won by the following players:—W.-B. Thorpe (champion singles). G. Angus (handicap singles). E. Marks and W. Allcock (champion pairs), G. Angus and H. Williams (handicap pairs), G. Crichton (first-year singles winner). The above prizes are to be presented at the club's social, to be held on July 30. The following recommendations of the outgoing committee were adopted: That tour teams be entered for the centre’s pennant competition. That more inter-club matches be arranged during the coming season. That the singles championship be finished in time to enter for the centre’s champion of champions competition, and that other club matches be brought to a close not later than March 31. In response to a request by the centre for an expression of opinion it was decided that the Easter tournament should commence on Good Friday instead of Easter Saturday. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. W. J. Jordan. M.P.; president. Mr. E. Marks: vice-presidents, Messrs. C. Simpson. J. E. Green, G. H. Bray, G. A. McKendrick. J. 11. Evans and H. Johnson: secretary. Mr. H. Dawson; treasurer, Mr. P\ H. Whitehead: auditor. Mr. T. 11. Sissons. The committee consists of Messrs. W. Allcock, G. Angus. R. G. Speight, A. James. G. Crichton, A. Moon and A. Watson. Match committee, Messrs. G. Angus, F. Thursby and T. Pilkington; green superintendent, Mr. R. G. Speight; coach, Mr. T. Pilkington: delegate to centre, Mr. E. Marks.
