QUITE ENOUGH TO DO
\ T a recent meeting o* the Canterbury Owners’ and Breeders Association strong exception was taken to the Trotting Conference remit asking for furtFier powe* being given the stipendiary stewards. The objection was based on the grounds that horsemen c C-n----cerned should be given opportunity to state their case in defence. A Southern critic dealing with the same question expresses the opinion that the “stipes*’ have sufF.cient power already, and “Abaydos" is of the opinion that if the kinc; pin officials .are to do their work thoroughly and efficiently they should not be hampered by additional responsibilities.
