AMICABLE SETTLEMENT
TROTTING CLASH AVOIDED TE AROHA CLUB AMENDS DATE f Special to THE SUK) THAMES, Tuesday. The probability of a clash between the Te Aroha and Thames Trotting Clubs, referred to in a recent issue of The Sun, has been avoided through an amicable settlement between the two clubs concerned. As pointed out by “Abaydos," the Thames Club applied for March 29 to avoid a clash with the Tauranga galloping fixture, or, as an alternative, March 22, the day suggested for Tauranga races. At the time of the Thames Club making its application for March 29. the executive were not aware that Te Aroha intended racing on that date, but the question has been settled by the Te Aroha Club amending its application for a date toward the end of January.
If the latter is granted, it should suit owners and trainers with horses endeavouring to qualify for the Otahuhu summer meeting in February. The Thames and Te Aroha Clubs are to be complimented on the amicable manner in which the date question has been settled. —(Abaydos.)
