PAEROA QUEEN CARNIVAL
In connection with the Queen Carnival at Paeroa, a Paddy’s market was held on Saturda3' evening in aid of the Business Queen, when very good business was done. The result of the ugliest man competition was that Mr. G. McKee was elected. Among those who competed were Messrs. W. Bain, A. Clowes, H. Hare, C. Mason, W. Marshall. R. Neild, C. N. O’Neill and P. Williams. In aid of the Farmers’ Queen, a social was held at Mr. Pendergrast’s house at Tirohia. Competitions and games were the order of the evening, the prize-winners being:—Cushion, Mr. Pendergrast: nail-driving, Mr. H. Hill 1. Mr. R. Wilkinson 2. The Farmers’ Queen, Miss Helen Matthews, was presented during the evening with a hula dress by Mrs. Wilkinson, senr.
