Exhibitors Spending Brisk Time at Show

IMPRESSIVE FIGURES BABY CONTEST RESULTS Exhibiting firms had another busy morning in today's round at the Winter Exhibition. A particularly large attendance crowded before the stalls and through the entertainment lane,. FEATURE today has been the ■*" heightening interest in the baby championship. A bright human side has been produced by the cotnpetition. The points in the championship' are: —Baby Hickman, SSO points, i ; Baby Mildon, 537 points, 2; Babv O'Sullivan, 530 points, 3; Baby Lelean and Baby Grogan, 521 points each, 4. The thousand mark has been easilytopped today by the attendance from schools, in and near Auckland. Facilities have been provided for 1,138 children and 45 teachers from ’ls schools. It is one of the best figures for the exhibition and augurs well for a big attendance total for the day. Complete gate returns yesterdayproduced £317, compared with £3os on the corresponding day lust year The takings to date, as far as the list has been formed, are £2,037, against £1,966 for the same period in 1925. With three more busy days to come, the officials are expecting excellent figures for the exhibition. Large numbers of people continue to stream in from the province and attention is now turning to the ami cultural and pastoral conferences opening this afternoon. EXHIBITION EVENTS IMPORTANT CONFERENCES Conferences are now figuring largely on the daily programmes of the Winter Exhibition. Events for today and tomorrow are: TO-DAY 1 p.m.—Conference of the Auckland Council of Affiliated Agricultural and Pastoral Associations. 2.30 p.m.—Free picture programme. 7.30 p.m.—Conference of secretaries to North Island Agricultural and Pastoral Associations. 7.30 p.m.—Free picture programme. TOMORROW 9.0 a.m.—All dogs, other than terriers and toys, to be benched ready for judging. 10.0 a.m.—Judging of dogs commences. 1.0 p.m.—Conference of North Island A. and P. Associations in the council rooms of the Auckland A. and P. Association, 41 Albert Street. 2.30 p.m.—Free picture programme. 7.30 p.m.—Free picture programme.
