DEFENCE OF AUSTRALIA
NO PERMANENT INJURY TO ORGANISATION Reed. 9 a.m. MELBOURNE, Today. The Prime Minister, Mr. Stanley Bruce, stated after a meeting of the Counsel of Defence that plans had been formulated for a substantial reduction in the expenditure on the Defence Department. It was not, however, proposed to do anything that would permanently injure any defence organisations, or impair efficiency to any material degree.
