TRAM CONCESSIONS

SEASON TICKETS MOOTED MR. LUNDON’S PROPOSAL Periodical tram concession cards for the general public are suggested by Cr. J. R. Lundon in a notice of motion he proposes to present to the Auckland City Council on Tuesday evening of this week. Cr. Lundon’s notice of motion is tabled in the following terms:—“That the Auckland City Council accepts with appreciation the offer, published in the Press, of the Auckland Transport Board, to provide each member of till’ council with an annual tram or bus pass at a cost to the recipients not exceeding £6 6s a year: that the Auckland Transport Board be Invited to arrange for the issue of such passes for quarterly, half-yearly or annually as may be desired by each payor; that the council affirm the principle of the issue to the public (including the council staff), by the Auckland Transport Board, of quarterly, half-yearly and annual tickets, and requests the board to give the matter their consideration.” Mr. Lundon is also tabling a notice of motion asking for each councillor a copy of the order paper by 5 p.m. on the Tuesday prior to the ordinary meeting of the council, later questions to be encompassed by a supplementary order paper.
