MOTORIST FINED £2O
DRINKING WHILE PARKED AT ROADSIDE PROHIBITION ORDER ISSUED A fine of £2O and the issuing of a prohibition order were the penalties inflicted on George Edward Osborne, who was charged at the Police Court this morning with being intoxicated in charge of a ear. QSBORNE, aged 29, was represented by Mr. Wallace, who entered a plea of guilty on his behalf. According to Sub-Inspector Mo 1 arthy it was 4.30 on Sunday morning "hen accused had been found in his stationary car in Graham Street under the influence of liquor. Counsel explained that Osborne, "ho had been to a dance, was finish- '■>* up the whisky that was in the back of his car. He had thought it quite safe for him to have a drink as be had finished his driving for the 'tight. He was staying at his friend's house outside which the car had been Parked. Counsel asked for leniency. Accused was a working man and was lu_a borrowed car. “1 will not cancel his licence.” remarked Mr. F. K. Hunt. S.M.
