HAD ONLY HIS UNIFORM AND FEW BOOKS SALVATIONISTS’ LEADER (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Thursday. The ‘‘Daily Chronicle” says the late General Bramwell Booth died penniless. Beyond his uniform and a few books he held no possessions. The general’s sole income was £ 5000 a year from a trust fund—although he controlled funds of the Salvation Army amounting to millions—and he had to rely on relatives to pay for the education of his children.
