TWO PEOPLE
Who is that in the garden, In gown of rosy hue, With hair as bright as the sunshine And starry eyes of blue?
And who the sweet-eyed impish elf, All in silver and green, With pointed cap and turned-up shoes. And wings of fairy sheen?
That is the Queen of Happiness, All clad in pink and pearls, And that the laughing Little Thought, Blue-eyed, with bobbing curls.
Her throne is made of softest moss, The Love Flowers are her crown, The Sunbeams are her subjects, And she reigns in Happy Town. -—Joan Brookfield, aged 12.
BUBBLES THAT LAST The only trouble about bubbles is that they burst so quickly, but here is a way to make bubbles which will float about for half an hour or so if there is no draught. Make a strong lather with hot water and some good soap, then let the water cool so that most of the froth will disappear. Then add half as much glycerine as there is water, stirring it well in. Any of the mixture left over can bo kept in a tightly-corked bottle. Shake well before using again
