TALKIES’ MUSIC

Aids Appreciation, Says Noted Director The sound and talking screen will do more than any other agency to develop a world-wide appreciation for ail that is best in music, according to Victor Schertzinger, the Paramount director, who is also a well-known composer. "The finest symphonic orchestras in the world have been assembled and are synchronising almost perfect musical accompaniments for feature pictures,” said Mr. Schertzinger. "That music will now be available to the smaller theatres, which hitherto have had to be content with the mediocre musical performances.” Victor Schertzinger directed the sound-synchronised production, “Redskin,” in which Richard Dix was starred in the main role. The picture was filmed ia colour, and the special music score was played by a symphony orchestra of over sixty performers. The theme song of the picture, "Redskin,” is also heard during the production.
