RETIRING DIRECTOR
PRESENTATION TO MR. D. POLLOK
Having retired from the position of managing-director of the Dominion Investment and Banking Association, Mr. David Pollok recently received a presentation from the board of directMr. A. G. Limn, chairman of the board, presented him with a certified copy of a special minute recording his work “in originating and in establishing and organising the Dominion Investment and Banking Association” and asked him to accept a cheque. The board of directors of the Northern Building Society took the same action. Mr. Pollok leaves for Sydney by the Marama on July 19.. CANADIAN WHEAT CROP RAIN URGENTLY NEEDED (Australian and N.Z. Extremely warm weather in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba in the past week has caused an appreciable deterioration in the wheat crops, most points reporting that rain is urgently needed. According to the crop report at the Canadian wheat pool on Friday, the wheat and coarse grains of the three provinces are not so far advanced or as promising. compared with the corresponding period in 1925.
