Ex-Solicitor Faces Charge of Theft

Smartly-dressed, Raymond Bradford Purser, a well-known former Auckland solicitor, appeared in dock at the Police Court today. Purser, who is 28 years of age, was charged with receiving £650 between Aogust 1. 1928 and April 30, 1929, and failing to account for the money to °avid Ross, a retired farmer, thereby committing theft. He was arrested Detective Suedden. An application by Chief-Detective -A Hammond for a remand until July was granted. Mr. E. H. Northcroft applied for hail for accused. There was no opposition from the Police and the bond was fixed at £SOO, w hich was forthcoming immediately. *C is alleged that the defalcations ?f e °f a larger amount than that mentioned above. Parser was struck off the rolls on June 28, following action taken by the Law Society,
