BRIGHT ENTERTAINMENT

GRAMMAR GIRLS' CONCERT

A bright entertainment, embracing songs, dances, recitations and choral numbers, was presented by the Epsom Grammar School girls in the Town Hall last evening. The concert was largely attended, and as a result the funds for the improvement of the library and grounds should be considerably augmented. All sections of the pupils participated in the performance, and each number was warmly received. Popular items included a sketch, “Dick Swiveller and the Marchioness,” played by Misses J. Morland and N. Dickie; a drill display by the Middle school; a one-act play, “Catherin Parr,” by Misses B. Mars, B. Warren and H. Coates. The third form’s choral numbers, including “Fairy Lullaby, “The Violet,” and “Dutch Tiles,” were much appreciated. One of the hest items was a twopart song, “Pond Lilies,” by the senior girls. A massed choir of the pupils provided a most effective finale, rendering “Alleluia,” by G. O’Connor Morris.
