NEW ASSOCIATION A well-attended meeting of golf club delegates held at Te Kuiti resolved to I form a King Country Golf Association. Preliminary constitution- was discussed. and Messrs. Tate (Te Kuiti), Fortesque (Otorohanga) and Low (Burnside) were appointed a special committee to prepare draft rules to be considered at a further meeting of delegates to be held at Te Kuiti. The King Country championships will be held this year on the Te Kuiti Club’s links, the women’s events on August 16 and the men’s on August 17. I Former rules will prevail, excepting ■ that three players each may be entered by the Burnside and Maihiihi ! Clubs. GOLF CUP CONTEST TEAM SAILS BY MAHENO Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. | The New Zealand Golf Council, at its monthly meeting, decided that the Kirk-Windeyer Cup team, which leaves by the Maheno on July 19, arriving at Sydney on July 23, will leave for Melbourne on the following evening, and the secretary was directed to make the ; necessary arrangements with regard j to bookings on the train. Members j of the team are entering for the Victorian State Championship.
