BOXING TOURNEY
TAUMARUNUI CARNIVAL (From Our Own Correspondent) TAUMARUNUI, Thursday. A large boxing tournament is to be conducted by the Taumarunui Association on Saturday next. The following is the programme: Special heavyweight contest: S. Litt (Taupiri) v. T. Mullins (Te Kuiti); welter-weight, T. Cobb (Waharoa) v. C. Haddon (JYJanunui); E. Gilbert (Te Kuiti), v. J. Smith (Taumarunui). Light-weight: J. Smith (Morrinsville) v. J, Roper (Manunui); Wilson (Frankton ) v. A. Spragg (Auckland). Bantam-weights: H. Carr (Hamilton) v. R. Purdie (Auckland); J. Williams (Frankton). v. R. McLachlen (Auckland). A number of other bouts will bo staged. Mr T. Burns, of Auckland, will control the bouts. '
