Coals in Demand
A PARTICULARLY strong tone is registered in the insurance section. South British are selling freely at 68s, leaving strong buyers; sellers 68s 6d. Coals are also firm and many buyers are appearing.

In the loan and agency. Abraham rnd Williams preference have buyers at 88s. Farmers’ Auctioneering, all issues, are in demand. Newton King preference have eager buyers at 11s.
I River Plate are asked for at 30s 9d. j Loan and Mercantile ordinary have buyers at £123, no sellers appearing 1 for the last three companies mentioned. Shipping, although quiet, remains steady. Huddart-Parker, both issues, j are asked for. Northern Steams, both ordinary and contributing - , are firm, j Union Steam have steady buyers at j 20s 6d. ... Breweries are firm. Tnnes and Staples ! have keen buyers. Few transactions I are being recorded. New Zealands I have eased to buyers 775, sellers 795. ' Mining is quiet and all shares in this section are inclined to weaken, with the exception of Ohinemuris. Waihis have buyers at 11s lOd, sellers 12s. All local body and Government securities continue to attract many investors and prices remain exceptionally firm.
