NEW CATHOLIC COLLEGE

OFFICIAL OPENING ON SUNDAY

The modern two-storey St. Mary’s College, New Street, Ponsonby, will be officially opened on Sunday afternoon. The ceremony will be performed by Bishop Cleary. The new building has been erected by the Sisters of Mercy to replace the old wooden St. Mary’s High School. The Sisters of Mercy commenced Catholic education in New Zealand 75 vears ago, and since then have devoted their services freely to the cause. An appeal is being made for funds to meet the large cost of the college.
