Press Association i (United, Service) Received 9.5 a.m. KARACHI, Thursday. THE monoplane Southern Cross, with Squadron-Leader Ivingsford Smith, Flight-Lieutenant C. T. P. Ulm (copilots), Mr. H. A. Litchfield (navigator), and Mr. T. H. McWilliams (wireless operator), left Allahabad at 11.55 a.m. today and reached Karaehi at 4 p.m.

Following are the details of the flight of the Southern Cross to date: June 25. —Left Richmond, Sydney, for Derby, Western Australia, about .2,100 miles. June 26. —Arrived at Derby after flight of 22 hours 5 minutes. June 27.—Left Derby for Singapore, about 2,020 miles. June 28. —Arrived at Singapore. June 29. —Left Singapore and landed at Singora, Siam, about 45S miles. June 30.—Arrived at Rangoon, Burma, from Singora, about 690 miles. July 2. —Left Rangoon and arrived at Calcutta, about 660 miles. July 3.—Flew from Calcutta to Allahabad. about 460 miles. July 4.—Flew* from Allahabad to Karachi, about S9O miles.
The distance covered on this hop j was about SIX) miles. Bad luck continued on the journey from Allahabad. Slight engine trouble occurred again, and adjustments must be made here. The airmen now hope to reach London on Sunday. Trouble had previously been encountered on the flight from Calcutta to Allahabad. The flyers met strong winds. They landed at the wrong place at Allahabad, and then found it impossible to start the right propeller again. After persisting for an hour, Ulm managed to adjust the trouble. Then the monoplane took off for the proper airdrome at Bamrauli. In descending there the monoplane narrowly missed a half-hidden wire fence owing to having only 200 yards of a runway.
