AFRICAN TENNIS TEAM

MAT VISIT HERE IN 1931 (From Our Resident Reporter/ WELLINGTON, Today. The South African side which it !► proposed shall visit New Zealand for e series of lawn tennis tests will not arrive in the Dominion until 1931. Negotiations were opened for th* New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association by Mr. H. Gore, Canterbury’s delegate to the N.Z.L.T.A.. who passed through South Africa recently on his way t< England. A visit during the comin. summer is not feasible because of th* fact that South Africa has a team « present in Europe engaged in mat ches for the Davis Cup preliminari*--but sympathetic consideration lv being given the Dominion's request fo a team to be sent here in two year?time. New Zealand Association offi cials are delighted with the which has been made and believe thn the terms of the tour -will be exceller; when arrangements are concluded.
