LITTLE HINTS ABOUT STORING
I£ you intend to put away teapots or coffee-pots for any length of time, do not put the lids on them. Or, at all events, insert a piece of wood, so that the lid will not fit right down. Unless the air can get in, the pot will become malodorously stuffy, no matter how thoroughly you may have washed it before storing.
In order to keep a tin thoroughly airtight after putting on the lid, stick a piece of adhesive tape all round the crack where the edge of the lid comes. This can be peeled off and replaced as occasion demands, and it most effectively keeps out the air.
