TOAST IN THE FRENCH MANNER
A GOOD BREAKFAST DISH Beat one egg, add a cupful of milk ' and a pinch of salt. Slice some rounds of stale bread and dip them in this mixture. Have a little butter heated to boiling point in a frying-pan, and fry the slices golden brown on both sides. Serve hot with warmed golden syrup.
