HOOVER’S TARIFF THREATS
CANADIAN EXPERTS GET BUSY ADEQUATE STEPS LIKELY (United P.A. —By Telegraph Copyright) Seed. 12.35 p.m. OTTAWA, Today. President Hoover’s tariff threats are producing results in Ottawa, and it is known that Government tariff experts ire making a very careful study of itie situation under quite definite instructions. When Congress passes the new iariff measure, the Prime Minister will be ready to tell Canada his plan to meet the situation. While no details are obtainable, it a credibly stated that the steps to be taken will be more adequate than the Conservatives expect, and action is "°t likely to be confined to British preference.
