BODY WASHED ASHORE

COROMANDEL DISCOVERY PAPERS FOUND IN POCKETS (From Our Own Correspondent) COROMANDEL, Monday. The body of a man believed to be A. C. Black was washed ashore on the beach in the Coromandel harbour this afternoon. In the clothing were found two receipts issued by Wynyard Lodge (Auckland), 1.0.0. F., to A. C. Black, and also a Northern Company steamer ticket, Coromandel to Auckland. With three or four companions a man believed to be Black came In from one of the road-making camps near Mercury Bay last Friday, intending to proceed to Auckland. As the steamer Rangltoto did not leave here until 11 p.m. it is believed the man must have fallen overboard either at the wharf or soon after the departure of the boat.
