Devonport United Football Club FORTNIGHTLY FUNCTION The Devonport United Football Club ■ maintains a steady patronage at its : fortnightly socials in the Foresters’ j Hall. Excellent amusement is provided by i the club’s energetic ladies’ committee. On Saturday evening the hall was i prettily decorated, and dance music J was supplied by the Kit Kat Orchestra. Among those present were: Airs. P. Blenkarne, who chose a black sequined georgette gown. Aliss Billie AlcGregoi* whose frock was of hydrangea blue crepe de chine, with silver lace. Aliss Edith AlacGregor, whose flame frock liad an uneven hemline. Aliss Dot Hine, who wore silver lame and violet ninon, with irregular hemline, line. Aliss I. Briggs, in old gold panne velvet. Aliss E. AXackenzie, wearing black georgette, with diamente relief. Aliss AT. Guest, in jade crepe de chine, i Aliss J. Gumming, wearing cyclamen taffeta. Aliss E. Fletcher, in black satin, with rose pink flower, and diamente trimWISTERIA CREPE DE CHINE Aliss D. Hartley, wearing wisteria crepe de chine, with sunray trimming. Aliss At. Harper, who chose an apricot crepe de chine frock. Aliss AI. Waterhouse, in delphinium blue georgette. Aliss Lily Scott, frocked in ninon of pastel shades. Aliss Alarjory Alorgan, wearing old rose georgette and lace. Aliss A. Bartley in black satin relieved Aliss A. Campbell, who wore apricot satin with net overdress and shoulder posy. Aliss J. Scott, in maize crepe de chine, with posy on shoulder. Aliss G. Handley, who wore blue crepe i de chine with a saxe blue coatee. Miss R. Sligo, in an orange cx - epe de - chine gown. SATIN AND SILVER LACE Aliss Al. Cassidy, who wore black satin I and silver lace. Aliss K. Gardner, in flesh georgette and j silver lace. Aliss May Bowen, in a forest green georgette and rainbow tissue gown. Aliss Tui Lord, who wore wedgwood blue 1 chenille georgette, with diamente trimming. Aliss L. Lord, wearing china blue flared taffeta. Aliss R. Buckley, who wore mauve crepe de chine. Aliss Colleen Ray, wearing a black satin gown. Aliss S. Stevens, in royal blue spangled georgette. Aliss Al. Kalka, who wore a black crepe de chine frock.
MOTHER’S CLUB
ENJOYABLE SOCIAL EVENING A successful and. pleasant social gathering was held in the assembly hall of the Y'.W.C.A. by the Mothers’ Club. Tho stage was charmingly decorated with arum lilies and greenery. Air. Whitmore’s orchestra was in attendance, and opened the entertainment with an overture. The various items were as follow: —Songs by the Alisses Rosier and Walding and Air. Jones; elocutionary items, Airs. Pankhurst and Air. Attwill; violin solos, Air. Dick; dance, Miss Irene Long, accompanied by Air. Stone on the bagpipes; an exhibition of club swinging by Airs. Hynes; and wand drill by the Alisses Gloria and Dallas Hill and Verla Hynes. Aliss May Judd and Aliss Doris Langley were accompanists. On behalf of the members, the president, Airs. Hankins, thanked all those who contributed toward making the evening a success.
