DEATHS OF LEGISLATORS
HOUSE PAYS TRIBUTES SERVICES TO COUNTRY (THE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, Today. The House of Representatives this afternoon placed on record its appreciation of the service of three former members whose have occurred. The late members are Sir James G. Wilson, who represented Foxton from 381 to 1890, Palmerston from 1890 to 1893, and Otaki irom 1893 to 1896: Sir Douglas McLean, who represented Napier from 1896 to 1899; and Mr. H. W. Uru, who represented Southern laori from 1922 to 1928. The Legislative Council has had no occasion to mourn the loss of any member. This is the first time for 29 years that no deaths have occurred among the elder statemen. The House adjourned after tribute had been paid to the memory of the dead legislators. The debate on the Address-in-Reply will be initiated on Wednesday evening by Mr. W. A. Bodkin (Otago Central). The only other speaker that evening will be Mr. G. C. Munns (Roskill).
