MAIDS CARRYING SPRING i FLOWERS BIDDICK—STEELE A pretty wedding was celebrated in St. Mat l hew s Anglican Church, Morrinsville, on Wednesday afternoon, when Miss Edna Steel, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Steel, of M orri nsvi I le, was married to Mr. Edgar Biddick, of Hamilton, son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Biddick, of Wanganui. The Rev. F. W. Wilkes performed the ceremony. The bride entered the church with her father, wearing a beautiful dress of ivory satin charmcuse with a *Sa.:;le flared flounce. Her flowing veil was of ivory tulle, and she carried a bouquet of white roses and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by three bridesmaids. Miss Olga Mortcnsen, of To Kuiti. wore a blue frilled georgette frock, Miss Myrtle Stell wore lilac georgette, smocked at the waist with pink, and Miss Olive Steel was in palest pink frilled georgette appliqued with pink roses. All wore dainty headdresses of tulle with sequins and leaves, and carried bouquets of spring flowers. The best man was Air. .J. 11. Biddick, of Xgaruawuhia, and the groomsmen were Messrs. W. Apted, To Kuiti, and 11. Steel, Morrinsville. The reception was held at the Masonic Hall after the ceremony, Mrs. Steel receiving the guests in a frock of navy blue crepe de chine with black satin coat and hat to tone. She carried a bouquet of violets. The bride’s travelling gown was of French blue chenille, with black satin coat, and beige hat. On their return Mr. and Airs. Biddick will take up their residence at Hamilton. Among the guests were: Air. and Airs. S. Watson. Pio Pio; Air. and Mrs. ATorisson, Hamilton; Aliss Clough, Auckland; Air. and Airs. McKeown, To Aroha; Air. and Airs. W. Morrice and Atisses J. and <l. Morrice; Aliss V. Atortensen, Auckland; Aliss Barrett, Coromandel; Airs. E. Jackson, Airs. D. Coghill, Airs. L. Faulkner, Aliss 11. Brooks, Aliss D. Ganley, Mr. Muleahy, Air. Apted To Kuiti; Air. Hunt, Air. Hobbs, Mr’ Alallett, Air. E. Greig, and All*. Batson, To Awamutu. , ~ . ~ A very bright dance was held in the evening at the residence o£ Mr. and Mrs. Steel, Allen Street.
BOUQUET OF ROSES
CONNING —SCOTT A wedding of considerable interest was performed by the Rev. J. H. Starnes at the Presbyterian Church, Morrinsville, on Wednesday. The principals were Arthur Henry Conning, son of Mr. E. Conning, Wardville, and Fanny Brown Scott, youngest daughter of Airs. J. Scott, of Ngarua, and the late Air. R. Scott. . _ - The bride, who was given away by her brother. Air. J. L. Scott, -wore a dainty frock of ivory crepe de ctime over shell pink, with an embroidered veil caught with a coronet of orange blossoms. Sho carried a bouquet of white roses and maidenhair tern. The bride was attended by her sister. Miss Mary Scott, who wore a pietty frock of powder blue crepe de clune and gold lace, with hat to tone Mr. E. J. Conning, twin brother ot the bridegroom, acted as best man. The bride travelled in a blue costume and fox fur and blue hat.
