.Aiiss A. Ryan, of Dunedin, is a guest at the Carg-en. Mrs. Chas. Ring, of Auckland, has also been the guest of Mrs. W. C. Ring. Miss A. Pollock, of Pukekohe, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. J. Karl, of Paterangi. Mr. and Mrs. F. Healey, of Ormondville, and Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Biddick, of Hamilton, are staying at the Albert Hotel. Mrs. C. B. Plummer, of City Road, Auckland, spent the week-end in Hamilton with her daughter, Mrs. Hammond. Mrs. J. Darling, of Wellington, and her daughter, Mrs. Trevelyn Miller, of Turua, are spending a tew days in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. M. K. Nash, of Palmerston North, and Mr. and Mrs. I. Woolf, of Christchurch, are at the Central Hotel. Mrs. A. Young, of Wellington, who has been spending a few weeks in Auckland, leaves for a visit to Honolulu by the Makura on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. .T. D. McArthur, of Wellington, Mr. and Mr. J. Mason, of Christchurch, and Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Carpenter, of Sydney, are staying at the Star Hotel. Among the recent arrivals at the Grand are Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Aitken, of Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. B. Mathers, of Sydney, Dr. and Mrs. J. Taylor, of North Carolina, U.S.A., and Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Aikman, of Sydney. WAIKATO NOTES Mrs. A. J. Bond, of Hamilton, is visiting her mother, Mrs. W. C. Ring, in Hinuera. Mrs. Anderson, of Wanganui, is visiting her sister, Mrs. T. Shaw, of Paterangi. Miss Paterson, of Ngaruawaliia, is the guest of her sisetr, Mrs. R. C. Devey, in Wanganui. FAREWELL SOCIAL Mr. and Mrs. R. Darrow, who are leaving Waingaro, where for the past six years they have been at the Hot Springs Hotel, will be greatly missed. The other evening the Waingaro Hall was crowded with friends who had come from many outlying districts to bid them farewell and good luck. Mr. Frank .Bull, on behalf of the Waingaro settlers, asked Mr. and Mrs. Darrow to accept a fine illuminated address. Mr. Burt, speaking for the Pukemiro and Glen Afton people, also made handsome presentations. All joined in voicing great regret at their leaving the district. HOCKEY DANCE IN TE AWAMUTU A very merry little dance was given by the Girls’ Hockey Club in Te Awamutu on Wednesday. The hall was gay with green and yellow streamers. Swift’s Orchestra from Te Kuiti played excellent music, and pleasurable extras were given by Miss E. Gerrard, Miss N. Quinlan and Mr. E. Holmes.’ The novelty dances were won by Miss Harris and Mr. D. Donaldson, and Miss G. Ryburn and Mr. B. Spiers. Among those present were: Mrs. A. S. Wallace, Mrs. McCarroll, Mrs. C. S. Garvey, Mrs. H. Y. Collins, Mrs. Raymond Jones, Mrs. H.
