CERASUS AT DUNEDIN —The cargo steamer Cerasus arrived at Port Chalmers on Monday with a full cargo of guano from the island of Juan De Nova, in Mozambique Channel, after a passage of 37 days* actual steaming. On her maiden voyage the vessel left Burntisland, where she was built for the Arbor Steamship Company of London, 16 months ago, with a cargo of coal for Algiers. Then she visited various Eastern ports, and after discharging Australian wheat at Mediterranean ports proceded to load her present cargo. She left Juan De Nova on May 13, bunkered at Durban on May 19, and at Albany on June 11. Moderate weather was experienced. Captain J. M. Murdoch has the following officers; —Messrs. J. Duncan, chief; R. Delafield, second; P. Lawrie. third; A. Sparkes, wireless; J. McKenzie, chief engineer; \V. MoGarvie, second; A. Young, third; R. Waller, fourth; and ,T. Bond, chief steward. The Cerasus will discharge about 3,000 tons of guano at Port Chalmers, and the balance of her cargo at Lyttelton and Auckland. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE— The following- vessels are expected to be within range of the undermentioned wireless stations tonight:— Auckland.—Aelybryn, Baron Pentland. Kaikorai. PORT OF ONEHUNGA—ARRIVALS SATURDAY ARAPAWA (1.30 p.m.), 251 tons, Pert, from Wanganui. Hokianga is to sail for Hokianga J p.m. today. Ngapuhi sailed on Saturday afternoon for New Plymouth, but was unable to work the bar. She returned to Onehunga at 4.30 p.m. yesterday after having made repeated attempts to cross. She was scheduled to sail again for New Plymouth at 1 p.m. today. . Arapawa is to be dispatched for Hokianga at 3 o’clock this afternoon. Hauturu is expected to return to port from Hokianga tomorrow* morning. She is to leave for Raglan, Kawhia and Waikato Heads at 4 p.m. the same day.
