CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
SUNDAY’S LESSON-SERMON “Christian Science” was the subject of the lesson-sermons in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, yesterday. The golden text was from Psalms xliii., 3, “O, send out thy light and thy truth; let them lead me; let them bring me unto Thy holy hill, and to Thy tabernacles.” Among the citations which comprised the lesson-sermons was the following from the Bible: “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works,” Timothy 11., iii. 16. 17. The lesson-sermon also included the following passage from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health, with Key to the Scriptures,” by Mary Baker Eddy: “In following these leadings of scientific revelation, the Bible was my only textbook. The Scriptures were illumined; reason and revelation were reconciled; and afterwards the truth of Christian Science was demonstrated. No human pen or tongue taught me the science contained in this book, ‘Science and Health.’ and neither tongue nor pen can overthrow it” (page lit)).
