DAREDEVIL FLYER DEAD
AIRPLANE PLUNGES FROM 2,000 FEET WOMAN PILOT INJURED (Australian and A'.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.5 a.m. NEW YORK, Friday. The noted woman pilot, Viola Gentry, was severely injured when the plane in which she was attempting an endurance flight plunged 2,000 feet when the petrol was exhausted, and struck a tree. Miss Gentry is expected to recover, but her co-pilot. Jack Ashcraft, the famous daredevil airman, was killed instantly.
