ROBBED A FRIEND
(From Our Oicn Correspondent) WHANGAREI, Friday. Given some gum to sell by a friend, Alexander Hughes received £1 2s. Instead of returning to his friend, he went on the spree, with the result that he appeared yesterday in the Whangarei Police Court charged with drunkenness and theft. He was convicted and discharged on the first charge, and fined £2, in default seven days, on the theft charge.
