EXTRA COMPENSATION
AWARD TO LABOURER Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. On June 21, 1928, Alexander MaeKenzie, a labourer, while employed in the butchers’ department of the New Zealand Refrigerating Company, near Timaru, was struck in the left eye by a sheep’s trotter, thrown back by a butcher. The eye was injured. At the time of the accident he earned, on the average, £4 4s 2d a week. He claimed under the Workers’ Compensation Act further compensation than the company has paid.
