STOLE BAY MARE

YOUTH FOR SENTENCE GUILTY ON THREE CHARGES Pleading guilty on charges of false representation, obtaining credit by fraud and theft, Andrew James Watson, aged 20, appeared at the Police Court yesterday afternoon, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Watson was charged with stealing a hay mare, valued at £l7, and belonging to Thomas Lock, at Mangere, on April 26, with obtaining a pair of motor-registration plates, valued at 2s 6d, by falsely representing that he had authority, and with obtaining credit by fraud by .incurring a debt of £4 17s 6d with Schofield and Company, at Auckland, on February IS. For Watson, Mr. J. J. Sullivan entered a plea of guilty on the two minor counts, and the man was remanded for sentence until July 9. Detective Knight produced a statement in which accused admitted the theft of the mare. After the evidence of the owner of the mare and the dealer to whom Watson had sold it was heard, counsel entered a plea of guilty, and Watson was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Bail was renewed as before, £SO, with two sureties each of £SO.
