DEVONPORT BOWLERS
The twenty-fourth, annual meeting of tho Devonport Bowling Club, held last night, was presided over by Mr. j Frank Mason. The secretary’s report j stated that tho membership was 111. and that though the income was less than last year, the club was üb’e to show a credit balance and redeem €SO of debentures owing on the pavilion. In addition, £lls had been spent on improvements to the building. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. J. McGregor; vicepresidents, Messrs. F. Snoad, O. Trevithick; secretary, Mr. R. N. Melville; treasurer, Mr. F. W. Connell; auditor, Mr. W. B. Byre; green imperintendent. Mr. W. F. Warren: selectors, Messrs. F. Layzell. W. Cox. H. Martinson; umpires, "Messrs. W. F. Warren, J. Goldsworthy; coaches. Messrs. J- Morgan. F. J. Ellisdon. J. Sinclair; Press reporters, Messrs. W. Atkin, T. Gooding: delegates for centre, Messrs. J. Pascoe, 11. W. King, J. McGregor: committee, Messrs. W. Cox. 11. S. W . King, F. J. Ellisdon, W. Atkin, T. Coding: winter green controller. Mr. J. Goldsworthy; trustees for debentures, Messrs. F. E. Mason, M. S. W. King. J. P. Wright. Trophies for next season were pro- j mised by Messrs. F. J. Ellisdon, J. I*, j Wright, W. Atkin. J. McGregor, H. S. W. King, W. F. Warren. J. 11. Spicer, C. L. Stevenson, J. Davis. Captain Lacy was the donor of a trophy to be competed for by bowlers who have been financial members of tho club for 14 years or over. It was decided to donate £ 5 5s to the earthquake relief fund. Special mention was made of the good work done by the greenkeeper, Mr. L. Batten.
