DAIRY PRODUCE OUTPUT

AUCKLAND’S BIG YIELD FURTHER INCREASE PREDICTED (Special to THE SU2>) WIiANGABEI, Thursday. Well over forty per cent of the butter-fat exported from New Zealand came from the Auckland Province, stated Mr. W. A. lorns, chairman of the Dairy Produce Control Board, at Whangarei today. Continuing, he stated it was a significant fact that -10 per cent, of the fertilisers used in the Dominion were placed on South Auckland pastures. There need be little fear that production would outgrow consumption in the near future, stated Mr. lorns. j While it was true that production was | on the increase, it was equally true j that the dairy produce consuming population was increasing at an even ' greater rate. “I am convinced,” he continued, i “that the best of our butter and the i j best of our cheese cannot be beaten. ! If we aim at quality, our dairy pro-; due© will bring the best price the law ; of supply and demand will allow. The j day is not far distant when we will be exporting more than 100,000 tons of butter, and 100,000 tons of cheese from these shores annually, and there is every reason to view the future of the dairy industry with satisfaction.” SYDNEY STUD SHEEP SHOW NEW ZEALAND SUCCESSES (United P.A. — By Telegraph — Copyright) SYDNEY, Thursday.
