WINTER “TOTE" RETURNS
fV'HEN the Auckland Trotting ’* Club held its last autumn fixture in 1925 the totalisator handled £102,251 for 16 races. The following year the carnival eventuated in June, when for 14 events carded the machine returns reached £103,047. Since then the meetings have been staged in the winter, with the following totalisator results: 1927 (14 events), £89.890; 1928 (14 events and two-year-old challenge heat), £66,147; 1929 (16 events), £74,067.
