ENJOYABLE DANCE WAITEMATA WOMEN’S PROGRESSIVE LEAGUE V ' FUNDS FOR CHARITY In furtherance of its campaign for funds for social work, the Waitemata Women’s Progressive League Held a most successful dance in Daly's Hall, Takapuna, last evening. During the evening displays ot Irish *tcp-dancing were given by Miss Needham, songs being contributed by ilips E. Brinsden. Dance music was supplied by Miss paly a Orchestra. Members of the committee were: p r> Wilkie, president, who wore a frock of black satin and lace; Mrs. j. A. Algie, secretary, in a gown of black satin with dove-grey reliefs; Mrs. Maw, whose frock was of black charmeuse; Mrs. Turtill, in a frock-of black embossed georgette; Mrs. Bestic, wore black georgette and lace; Mrs Middleton, whose black georgette frock was surmounted with lace. Others present were: Mrs. Bee Hall, in a frock of powder blue crepe de chine and ivory lace. Mrs. w. Steven, frock of black satin b«aute. Miss A. Steven, wearing a rose pink brepe de chine frock. CYCLAMEN GEORGETTE Miss M. Steven, in a frock of cyclamen georgette with rliamente relief. Mrs. Aughton, who wore a bronze joarocain frock. Miss R. Aughton, in a frock of floral binon. Mrs. Eady. wearing a white and french f>lue georgette frock with gold tissue reiefs. Miss E. Maofarlane, in a frock of fcmber georgette. Miss M. Needham, wearing a royal blue velvet frock with gold lace reliefs. Mrs. Needham, who wore a frock of black and grey crepe de chine. Mrs. Reid, in a blue georgette and Jvorv lace frock with blue wrap. Mrs. Hoskinson. whose gown of ivory hue was worn over powder blue taffeta. Miss M. Robinson, who was in ciel blue crepe de chine. Miss M. Ellis, whose frock was of grey charmeuse and silver. Miss B. BRIDGE AFTERNOON ST. PETER’S ANGLICAN CHURCH GUILD To provide funds for the annual bazaar to be held toward the end of the year, members of St. Peter’s Anglican Church Guild conducted a bridge afternoon in the pavilion of the Takapuna Bowling Club yesterday afternoon. BABY CONTEST HEAVY POLLING IN TAURANGA The results of the baby contest in connection with the Tauranga Winter Exhibition were announced on Saturday evening at the picture theatre. In the section under 12 months, Mrs. Hartnell’s baby won first prize with 3,152 votes, and Mrs. IT. M. Stewart’s second with 3.050 votes. In one section over one year, and under two years, Mrs. G. T. Wright’s baby won, with 1,785 votes.
