LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY
“HAY FEVER” THIS EVENING The Little Theatre Society will present Noel Coward's play, "Hay Fever/’ at the Concert Chamber this evening and until the end of the week. This production is notable for the introduction of six new players to Auckland drama-lovers. These are Misses Isabelle Lorigan, Fay Neynolds, Lola Messcler and Nel Lush, and Messrs. A. J. C. Fischer and Tim Hudson. Of the players who have appeared before there are three, namely Daphne Knight, who made conspicuous success in "Outward Bound”; Roberts Tole, possibly the most popular member of the organisation; and Cyril Seaward, whose work will be remembered for his good performance in "Cassilis Engagement.” The booking is very heavy, and the society anticipates that the performance will be the most successful to date. A feature of interest will be the music. Mrs. R. A. Singer will present a selection of Noel Coward’s music that he wrote for "This Year of Grace.” Exit Snookums and enter Sunny Jim. When Universal signed up Lawrence Me Keen, four-3'ear-old star, it did not acquire his screen name of Snookums. So he is starting out on a new career under the direction of Gus Meins in two-reel talking comedies as Sunny Jim.
