AT ANCHOR IN THE WAITEMATA.—The German cruiser Emden, which arrived at Auckland this morning from Thursday Island on its cruise around the world. The ship is bigger than the Dunedin or Diomede by about 1,500 tons, but looks even bigger by reason of its height out of the water, and its towering funnels.
