HAMILTON LADIES’ CLUB The second round of the Douglas Cup will be played by members of tho Hamilton Ladies’ Golf Club tomorrow. A week is the time allowed for the ■ third round of the Douglas Cup. Mrs. N. Batt and Mrs. C. O. Bennett are in the final for Mrs. A. Joll’s trophy, Miss K. Oliver and Miss J. Templer are in the final for the Gillies Vase. ROTORUA CLUB During last week-end the semifinals of the MacDonald Cup were played, and some exceptionally good golf was produced. The best game of the match was that between Morrice and H. Parata, the former conceding tho latter 10 strokes. At the end of the 18 holes, the match was all square This meant a further 18 holes, at the end of which Parata managed to beat his opponent by 2 up and 1 to play. On the other side of the draw, Waldon beat Fakes by 3 up and 2 to play, after an exhibition of good but very cautious golf. Parata mets Waldon in the final next Saturday, and no great odds will bo offered either player. In conjunction with the MacDonald Cup, a bogey competition was played, with tho following players all 2 down: Tatter sail, Dr. Hay, Roe, Morrice, Empen. LADIES’ GOLF UNION The New Zealand Ladies’ Golf Union homo links coronation medal competition was won by Mrs. McDonald, Te Awamutu, 83, 19—64 (eight under standard score). To Aroha beat Waihi in an interclub match at Te Aroha, it being tho first inter-club fixture on the new links. Play was keen, and the afternoon was a thoroughly enjoyable one. KIRK-WINDEYER CUP TEAM Having been approached by the New Zealand Golf Council, members of the Kirk-Windeyer Cup team, which is due to leave on July 19 for Australia, have notified that they will compete at the opening day of the Hutt Club’s tournament on July 18. CAMBRIDGE CLUB Members of the Cambridge Golf Club played the first round of the bogey cup competition on Saturday. The cards returned were: W. Robinson, 4 up; E. Mickle, 3 up; I.
