HER TRUE FORM

r PHE dual success of Derby Lynn yesterday gave Auckland light Harness enthusiasts some idea of the Nelson Derby mare’s true worth, and bore out the correctness of the opinion expressed of her capabilities in THE SUN. Up to a mile and a-half Derby Lynn is a treasure, and next season she will do a lot better over a longer journey. At Hawera this year she ran two solid races over 16 furlongs, and probably had the Long-burn-trained four-year-old not attempted to win the Hobson Handicap on Saturday from end to end in the heavy going the result would have been different. Those who saw her win yesterday will not readily forget the manner she played with the opposition on each occasion.
