PUBLIC SERVANTS MEET

j OPENING OF CONFERENCE Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. The annual conference of the Public : Service Association executive committee was opened today by the Hon. G. YV. Forbes. The president, Mr. Burgess, said the association was gratified at the Prime Minister’s announcement that the Government was determined not to interfere with the principle of a non-political control of the service. The Minister expressed regret at the unavoidable absence of Sir Joseph Ward and spoke of his appreciation of the loyalty of the public service. Both in ability and loyalty it stood very high indeed, and he thought that that was generally recognised by the people.
