NEW BULLION REGULATIONS
A postal regulation limiting to £j.O the value of bulliop that may be sept by registered letter through the Po.st Office, which has been gazetted, provides a sequel to the Wahine mailbag robbery.
The regulation further prescril:#2s that not more than £lO worth of bullion shall be carried in any one mail, and the Postmaster-General reserves the right to refuse any postal packet containing bullion on the ground that the mail may be subject to violation. Letters containing gold addressed to countries beyond New Zealand may be posted, if not prohibited, only at money-prder offices. It is advised that parcels containing jewellery, watches, gold, or silver, should be insured. Where the contents are over 10s in value registration is compulsory.
