PRINCE’S BIRTHDAY
HEIR APPARENT IS NOW 35 YEARS OF AGE
H 1 ® ROYAL HIGHNESS, the Prince of Wales, is now 35 years of age. His birthday was on June 23, but public recognition of the event is being made in all corners of the world today. “All the world loves the Prince. . . .” The citizens of the United States are among those who fondly use the expression. It has its full justification, and the heir to the throne adds to his popularity year by year. Whether in the mines of the English Black Country, visiting squalid localities, touring in the Dominions, attending the fetes of thrilled Americans, or seeing Continental resorts, the Prince receives applause and homage. His is the most engaging personality in presentday Royalty, and, further, in all public life. Was it not a New York paper which bestowed the title of “the Prince with the EverReady Handshake?” In New Zealand today there is a collective thought of goodwill from the community. In North-west Canada, Pacific Islands, sweltering corners of Africa, and above India’s teeming millions, flags will flutter the message of best wishes to the Empire’s bachelor prince. . . .
