HELPING THE SICK
HOSPITAL AUXILIARY’S WORK
NEXT WEEK’S APPEAL
An appeal is to be made by the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary during the coming week for funds to provide for little extra comforts for the thou-
sand men, women and children in the Auckland Hospital and Infirmary. The auxiliary is organised to try and bring a little sunshine into the lives of the patients of these institutions, and for this purpose both funds and workers are urgently needed.
This evening the hon. secretary of the auxiliary, Dr. E. Buckley Turkington, is to broadcast a talk on the activities of the auxiliary from station IYA. Tomorrow special mention of the activities of the auxiliary is to be made
at various church services, and the Rev. Lionel B. Fletcher will give a talk at the children’s evening wireless session.
On Monday evening bridge parties will be held, and on Tuesday a dance and card party is to be conducted at the Click Clack Cabaret.
On Thursday nest, Girl Guides will visit the hospital with gifts, and in the evening a Girl Guide concert will be held in St. Matthew’s Hall.
The street collection is to be held on Friday, and the appeal will be concluded on Saturday with an entertainment by Miss Eileen Beresford’s pupils, assisted by the Mount Albert Aroha Ladies’ Progressive League, in the Carlton Hall, Edendale.
