GIRL STRUCK WITH PIPE
YOUNG MAN IN COURT Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Today. In the Supreme Court at Christchurch today, Mr. Justice Smith sentenced Ernest Wade, aged 19, to three years in a Borstal institution for striking a girl at Timaru on the head with an iron pipe. Counsel said that Wade’s trouble was mental. —P.A.
