INTIMIDATION POLICY
STRIKERS AGAINST POLICE AND LAW COURTS “VIRILE” ACTION INDICATED Reed. 11 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. An undisguised policy of intimidation against the police and the lawcourts in co nnection with the timber strike is indicated in reports of the disputes committee to the Labour Council. Mr. C. Reeves, a prominent Communist, said virile action to deal with policemen who were acting as escorts to volunteers was being decided on in a secret conference. Another delegate stated that the attitude toward Judge Curlewis, for his handling of the prosecution of a man for assault on a volunteer, was also being defined.
